This Privacy Policy explains how Instimate, operated by MODRN IO INC (“Instimate,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our cost-estimate calculators, request an on-site estimate, or otherwise interact with our services (the “Services”). Instimate provides embeddable estimate tools on behalf of home-service businesses (each, a “Contractor”). When you request an estimate through a Contractor's calculator, we process your information both for that Contractor and for our own operation of the Services.
Information we collect
- Contact information you provide: name, email address, and phone number.
- Project information: service type, project scope answers, material selections, ZIP code, and the resulting estimate range.
- Verification information: a one-time code and the timestamp at which your phone number was verified.
- Usage and device information: IP address, browser type, referring URL, and marketing attribution parameters (for example, UTM tags).
How we use your information
- To calculate and deliver your estimate and shareable results.
- To verify your phone number and confirm your request for an on-site estimate.
- To pass your request to the Contractor whose calculator you used, so they can contact you to schedule your estimate.
- To send transactional messages (such as your estimate, verification codes, and appointment-related communications).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Services, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
SMS / text messaging and mobile information
If you provide your mobile number and request an on-site estimate, we send a one-time verification code by text message and the Contractor may contact you to schedule your estimate. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELPfor help. See our Messaging Terms for details.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Information you submit is shared only as described in “How we share information” below — most importantly, with the Contractor you asked to contact you.
How we share information
- With the Contractor whose calculator you used, so they can prepare and schedule your estimate and follow up about your project.
- With service providers who operate the Services on our behalf under confidentiality obligations — including hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), transactional email (Resend), text-message verification (Twilio), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and, where the Contractor has connected one, their customer-relationship-management system (for example, HubSpot or GoHighLevel).
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
A Contractor may enable advertising and analytics tools on their calculator (for example, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, or Google Analytics) to measure ad performance. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, to allow the Contractor to follow up on your request, and to comply with legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of text messages (reply STOP) and marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link). Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
